good, I found myself in a permanent transit between heaven and
earth. I Call that place 'My own personal E D E N'
E D E N is not just SMATKA's debut - It is also a mesmerising concept album. It describes the transit zone between
heaven and earth, between dream and reality, between past and future, between instinctual sin and the false
restraint of chastity. SMATKA fondly calls that place her own personal EDEN.
SMATKA opens E D E N with an almost
“Lennon-ish”

But those of us who listen carefully, quickly realise that the now extinguished fre of hell brings a much bigger
consequence to light. The mass murder of the individual, of the soul-construct “Mensch”. With sensual ease
SMATKA conquers each of her listeners' hearts, takes them by their hand and guides them step by step until they
stop in front of the mirror. Facing their own individual refection, she says: “I am a cliché.... but we’ve lost. And
yes, we’ve fought for love...”.
SMATKA creates bilingual SynthPop with a sensational voice, fearless and profound.
E D E N’s visuals and moving pictures are a paradisiac candy-feast for the eye. It comprises
four music-videos and
ten live-videos
which are all linked to each other. Each of the seven protagonist (the seven deadly sins) has its own
unique story and forms a sequenced unit with each of the other protagonists. E D E N recalls a young “Volksbühne
Berlin”(Berlin’s most iconic theater “Art to the people”), the time of the
Lynch's
and
Wender’s
,
Falco's and Nina's
and still SMATKA-pioneer of dreams, adventuress and storyteller, who creates her own name with the childlike
wink of an eye, timeless in the
Zeitgeist
.
E D E N was brought to life with no fnancial budget. Its existing is fully owed to all of SMATKA's friends and
supporters, who helped and submitted their time to an artist, who hasn’t got the big name and millions of
followers yet, but do believe in SMATKA J. Bartz as an artist.
First and foremost second half of SMATKA, partner in crime producer/composer/pianist Willi Sieger who mixed
and mastered EDEN and flmed and edited the music videos to “Und als ich tot war” and ”Schwerelos” as well as
he edited the video for”Sky above Berlin”. SMATKA is also working with producer/ composer and multiple Swiss-
Award winner Marco Jeger, Photographer Jeremy O'Donnell, videographer I.AM.JOHANNES and Jorin Zschiesche
- head of the distribution company RecordJet.
